Applies to Subtitles Viewer and Subtitles Viewer PRO, from Interactive Coconut.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of those apps (the “App”), published by Interactive Coconut (“we”, “us”).
By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App Store licensed application Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your download of the App from Apple.
1. The App
Subtitles Viewer lets you search for, download, upload, and display subtitles on your iPhone or iPad, timed with a movie or TV programme playing on another screen.
Subtitle files available through search are provided by OpenSubtitles and by other users of that service. We do not produce those files and we do not control their accuracy, completeness, or timing.
Subtitles Viewer PRO is a separate paid app. It includes unlimited downloads and uploads for as long as you own that app. It does not include a subscription.
2. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes, including personal viewing of subtitles you have the right to use
- Not use the App to infringe copyright or other rights
- Not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse our services or OpenSubtitles
- Keep your Apple ID and device secure
You are responsible for the subtitle files you upload from your device. Uploaded files stay on your device unless you later share them yourself.
3. Free credits
The free App includes a small number of download credits. Each credit is consumed when you download a subtitle file. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not redeemable except as described in the App (for example when you delete a downloaded file, a credit may be returned).
You can buy additional credits as one-time in-app purchases. Credit packs are consumable. They are used up as you download files and are not restored as a subscription would be.
4. Unlimited subscription
The free App may offer auto-renewable subscriptions that unlock unlimited subtitle downloads and uploads while the subscription is active:
- Monthly unlimited subscription
- Annual unlimited subscription
Prices are shown in the App in your local currency before you buy, and are charged to your Apple ID.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel the subscription in iOS Settings, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
If a subscription expires or is refunded by Apple, unlimited access ends. Remaining credit packs, if any, still apply.
People who previously bought the older lifetime unlimited in-app purchase, or who own Subtitles Viewer PRO, keep that access. Those purchases are not subscriptions.
5. Other in-app purchases
The App may also offer one-time purchases (for example extra credits). Features, prices, and availability can change. We may hide a product from sale while still honouring purchases you already made.
6. Apple billing and refunds
All payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details. Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s App Store terms. We cannot issue a refund ourselves.
If you believe a charge is wrong, use Apple’s Report a Problem tools or Apple Support.
7. Restore
Use Restore on the purchase screen to restore eligible lifetime purchases and to refresh an active subscription on a new device signed in with the same Apple ID. Consumable credits already used on another device may not reappear.
8. Intellectual property
The App, including its name, design, and original code, is owned by Interactive Coconut. Subtitle files retrieved from OpenSubtitles remain subject to the rights of their authors and to OpenSubtitles’ terms. Movie and TV titles, artwork, and related names belong to their respective owners. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those owners.
9. Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is”. Subtitle search depends on OpenSubtitles and on your network. Files may be missing, mistimed, in the wrong language, or unavailable. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular screening.
To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Interactive Coconut is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunity, arising from your use of the App or of third-party subtitle files.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim (excluding amounts paid to Apple that Apple retains).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Third-party services
The App uses OpenSubtitles and Apple services. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages or changes those services make.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information the App uses.
13. Changes
We may update the App and these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, which will show a new “Last updated” date. If you do not agree, stop using the App and cancel any subscription through Apple.
14. Other Interactive Coconut apps
These Terms currently apply to Subtitles Viewer and Subtitles Viewer PRO. Other Interactive Coconut apps may have their own terms, or be added here later.
